SMA Nutrition (Owned by Wyeth UK) has been developing its range of infant milks for nearly 90 years. During that time SMA has been at the forefront of research and development in the field of infant nutrition. Guava has worked as SMA Nutrition's online agency for several years, providing a variety of services from website development and online consultancy through to advertising solutions and search engine optimisation. SMA needed:

  • An agency that could understand their business requirements and provide an insight into best practices online.
  • A new content management solution.
  • Re-development of two websites – their main consumer website and their website that targets healthcare professionals.

Guava redeveloped SMA’s consumer facing website to make sure that it was fully aligned to their latest branding principles. We included content enhancements to create a more intuitive website that enables its audience to build a relationship with the site. We also included functional enhancements to allow users to gain factual information and guidance with greater ease.

Their content management solution was outdated and restrictive. Now SMA’s websites are built using the powerful GuavaCMS, developed on the .Net platform, which enables timely and accurate content updates using an intuitive interface which negates the need for technical skills. 


Nearing completion of the websites, Guava developed a series of banners to be used across their affiliates' websites, promotional emails and various application enhancements to both the consumer and healthcare professional websites. This included an interactive Adobe Flash based history timeline for both websites, featuring key product launches and major company milestones.

Guava maintains and supports the website whilst continuously adding features and functionality to help drive both new and repeat visitors to the site and has recently been appointed to manage a Search Engine Optimisation campaign to define SMA as child nutrition experts.
